It is critical to choose equipment that can handle the abrasive and erosive nature of oil sands and mining slurry flow.

Emerson Fisher™ has created a ‘slurry’ valve designed specifically for harsh applications.

The Fisher™ Slurry Vee‐Ball™ V150S utilizes reverse flow design to direct flow away from the valve body. The V150S compared to gate valves and other rotary valves has achieved a 4x increase in valve lifespan on average. In addition, the valve maintains predictable control characteristics throughout the wear cycle, allowing for consistent process control and operations. By combining the benefits of a control valve with the durability of a slurry valve, the V150S offers the control to optimize your process while minimizing maintenance requirements to limit downtime.

Proven Results

Our Customer utilized air injection columns which modulate the liquid (highly abrasive slurry) rate being drained from the bottom of the column. With current gate valves lasting 8-12 months on average, the Emerson Fisher™ V150S slurry flow control valve with ceramic trim proved to be the best solution. After significant run time, it was found that the valve's lifespan had improved to 24 months, delivering $533,000/year savings.
