John Nita
John Nita was named president of Emerson’s business in Americas in October 2025. In this role, he oversees a $7 billion business that helps some of the world’s leading companies leverage automation software and technologies to optimize operations, protect personnel, and reach sustainability targets. Prior to his current role, Nita held responsibility for leading Emerson’s business in Europe for the preceding 4-½ years.
Earlier in his career, Nita was vice president of global lifecycle services. In this role, he worked with customers to develop traditional, remote, and connected service offerings to maximize their return on automation investments. His team was responsible for delivering industry-leading cybersecurity solutions, process simulation systems for plant design, digital twin solutions, and state-based control and alarming helping customers achieve top-quartile performance.
Nita began his career in the specialty chemical industry in 1995 working in corporate engineering, plant process engineering, process unit supervision, and ultimately plant technical and production management at various sites across the United States and Europe.
He joined Emerson’s Systems and Software business unit in 2002, ultimately holding a variety of positions including solution architect, project manager, Main Automation Contractor (MAC) program director, operations manager, senior director Asia-Pacific projects and services, and vice president European projects and services. Nita was also vice president global sales, marketing, and technology for Emerson’s life sciences business. In this role, his team interacted with senior executives from leading life sciences companies to develop and implement transformational technologies improving operational efficiencies, accelerating the time new therapies could be released to the market, and providing cost-effective compliance.
Nita received a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, and holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
