Vent Capture

March 1, 2026

The Challenge

Oil and gas producers face increasing pressure to meet production targets while reducing emissions and managing rising carbon costs. Vented hydrocarbons from compressor packing vents, glycol dehydrators, and pneumatic instruments contribute to NOₓ, VOC, and CO₂(e) emissions, increasing regulatory exposure under current and future MSAPR requirements while driving higher carbon taxes, missed offset opportunities, and unnecessary fuel losses.
The Solution

The Solution

Spartan Controls implemented , a proprietary, patented vent capture technology that collects vented hydrocarbons and redirects them for use as a supplementary fuel source for natural gas engines or burners. Instead of being released to atmosphere, vent gas is safely routed to existing combustion equipment, improving fuel utilization and reducing emissions.

SlipStream® integrates easily into both new and existing installations and supports safe, reliable engine and burner operation. By converting vented emissions into usable energy, the solution reduces carbon liability while helping producers manage operating costs and cash flow.

The Value

  • 50–90% reduction in vent‑related hydrocarbon emissions, supporting current and future MSAPR compliance
  • Lower carbon tax exposure and improved offset potential, strengthening project ROI
  • Fuel gas savings by converting previously vented hydrocarbons into supplementary engine fuel
  • Improved combustion efficiency, reducing overall fuel consumption
  • Reduced CO(e), VOC, and NOₓ emissions, strengthening environmental performance and reporting outcomes
