The Challenge
Recurring ERV leakage and inspection findings were increasing emissions exposure and reducing confidence in tank protection systems. Inconsistent blanket gas control and limited visibility into tank conditions made relief devices more susceptible to leakage, particularly during changing operating scenarios.
The Solution
Spartan Controls implemented a proactive tank management approach focused on stabilizing blanket gas control and improving system visibility. The blanket gas regulator was relocated to the tank tops to improve pressure response, and targeted repairs were completed on tank protection devices to address existing leakage.
Monitoring solutions were introduced to support verifiable auditing, alongside recommendations for proactive maintenance practices. Enhancements to blanket gas and VRU management reduced fuel gas loss and minimized stress on ERVs, improving long‑term reliability and compliance.
