Rosemount Analytical Process
Analytic Division gas analyzer products are specifically designed for use
with the correct area classes. Instruments rated for General Purpose areas
may NOT be used with Flammable or Combustible process fluids. GP instruments
are rated NEMA12 and so are not pressure containing. Instruments rated for
Zone 2 areas may only be used with Flammable or Combustible process fluids if
an approved ISA purge system is incorporated into the system design. These
instruments do not contain pressure and are flushed in accordance to NFPA 496
Standard for Purged and Pressurized Enclosures for Electrical Equipment 2003
Edition. Instruments rated for Zone 1 areas are mounted in CSA approved
explosion proof or flame proof enclosures. CSA approved explosion proof or
flame proof enclosures do not contain pressure but would allow any leakage of
Flammable or Combustible process fluids to leak into the defined hazardous
area. As none of these devices contain pressure ANSI/ISA standard 12.27.01 is
inapplicable by definition. |
