This site covers Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) compliance issues and how regulations affect the use of our products and services. The site includes reference documents and links to other standards organizations such as CSA, CEC, ISA, and Standata issues.

Process Seals

The Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1, 2006, Safety Standard for Electrical Installations (C22.1-06), and the associated STANDATA Variance of Oct. 1, 2007, now requires special process seals (secondary seals) in some applications to ensure that process fluid cannot pass through the conduit or cable into other areas upon failure of a single component. Spartan Controls is working with the manufacturers we represent to help customers address these requirements (ANSI/ISA-12.27.01).
