Bettis Gas & Hydraulic Actuators
April 01, 2010
Gas/Hydraulic valve actuators (often referred to as gas over oil type) use a high pressure gas supply (typically 300 to 1480 psig) as their power source. They are often used in gas/transmission pipelines in which the pipeline media is used for the actuator's power source.
Actuators are available in rotary (1/4 - turn) and linear versions and can be supplied with practically any required control system including remote control and linebreak systems.
Bettis quarter-turn operators incorporate a scotch yoke for converting linear motion to rotary motion, producing smooth torque outputs with ranges from 5,000 to 6,000,000 lb.in.
- Readily adaptable to all quarter-turn valves, 90º +- 10º adjustable rotation standard, limited rotation available
- Adaptable to “NACE” trim valves (MR-01-75); suitable for operation with sour power gas on application
- Zero leakage piston and rod seals; material to suit application
- Complete control packages featuring rugged Bettis poppet style relays to suit specific specification
- Convert pipeline gas pressure into powerful hydraulically controlled torque to open and close the valve
