Sterling Valve and Automation has responded to the challenges of coking within the refinery area by providing a solution that meets the extreme high temperature, high pressure, and potential issues of combustion. This has been achieved by applying a Pneumatic Bettis Scotch Yoke Actuator ESD and encapsulating it with the KMASS-Intumescent coating for fire protection. With the use of one or both of the Fisher 6200 Partial Stroke Digital Valve Controller and the Top Worx DXP DDVC we are able to provide precise valve positioning and feedback control.
In order to handle the demands of the process, it is essential to use a metal seated designed ball valve to provide quick and reliable fail safe operation. The Fisher Z500 can incorporate a number of specialized trim configurations and high quality coatings for use in this high temperature, high pressure, erosive and corrosive application.
As part of the added solution, Spartan can mount all of the automated controls within a separate control panel that is also encapsulated within KMASS to ensure the valve is brought to a safe state if there is an emergency.
