Technical Sales Specialist - Systems (Fort McMurray)

Description

We are recruiting internally and externally for an experienced Distributed Control System professional to join our Process Systems & Solutions Team in Fort McMurray.
  
Your primary role will be to drive customer preference for DCS and related systems, support the continued sales growth and success of our industry-leading DeltaV Digital Plant Control System.  To be successful in this role, you will be working very closely with the Account Managers, Instrument Asset Specialists, and Application Engineers to leverage knowledge of current and future automation technology trends to help architect new and innovative solutions to their toughest process control challenges. 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Determine customer requirements and provide unparalleled application solutions expertise to our customers in the Fort McMurray area
  • Systems architecture development - focus on best value/fit-for-purpose solutions, continuous technology evaluation, innovation, and updating of proposal standards
  • Proposal support – meet customer requirements while creating a competitive advantage for a Spartan solution
  • Develop appropriate relationships with key customers and industry contacts
  • Support SBU Manager in technology management for the business unit
  • Work within a team to deliver business unit goals and objectives, and improve operational effectiveness
  • Support the account planning process, develop trusting customer relationships, and ultimately increase customer loyalty
  • Focus heavily on understanding the customer’s processes and delivering solutions to our customer’s problems

Qualifications and Skills

  • Engineering Degree or Technical Diploma with equivalent experience
  • 5+ years solid automation background and industry experience
  • Strong control systems product knowledge
  • Experience with DCS implementation and operations
  • Knowledge of third-party components (i.e.: networking power etc.)
  • Solid presentation, negotiation, and deal-making skills
  • Proven customer service practices
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Highly motivated and innovative
  • Team focused
  • Valid drivers license, as travel is required
