Function:   Instrument Reliability Technical Support
 
Location:  Fort McMurray / Commuting Weekly

 We are recruiting internally and externally for junior or intermediate Engineers or Engineering Technologists to work within the Spartan Services Team, reporting to the Manager – On-Site Asset Services.  The individuals will work directly in customer’s offices in Fort McMurray, as a member of their Instrument Reliability Team.  The opportunity is based on the strong relationship we have with our customers and the desire to work closer together for our mutual benefits.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance and support the customer’s maintenance and reliability work processes.  This may involve the utilization of Emerson technologies and OEM best practices.
  • Receive OEM level training with Emerson’s technologies and work processes.
  • Provide an expert level utilization of Emerson’s AMS Device Manager Suite including diagnostics and predictive alert capabilities.
  • Deliver and quantify financial benefits using Emerson technologies and services.
  • Provide direct reliability and technical support for Emerson/Spartan products at both an engineering and maintenance level.
  • Provide hands-on training and mentorship on the utilization of Emerson’s technologies.
  • Create, improve and/or maintain instrument data integrity.  This may include (but is not limited to) diagnostic, maintenance, datasheet, and SIS instrument validation records.
  • Inventory optimization and management (for example:  The Rosemount Transmitter Quick Build Program)
  • Participate in the development, optimization, and execution of instrument shutdown scopes.
  • Document all lessons learned both from a product application and best practices perspective.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Engineering Degree or Instrumentation Technologist Diploma from NAIT/SAIT with equivalent experience
  • Strong product and application understanding
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Highly motivated and innovative
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic
