Description
We are currently recruiting internally and externally for an individual for an Application Engineering role, based out of our Edmonton office
.
This challenging role will be working with the Valve, Regulator, Rosemount ("VRR") team and will be reporting to the Application Engineering Manager.
Role and Responsibilities
-
Provide day-to-day engineering solutions and customer service to Heavy Oil, Refining and Engineering Contractor customers in Alberta

Determine customer requirements and provide specification/technical application solutions of control equipment and instrumentation
-
Sizing and selection of equipment to meet customer specifications and requirements
-
Collaborate with customer engineers to develop solutions, as required
-
Produce quotations, bid proposals, document packages and order control equipment
-
Provide troubleshooting expertise of control equipment and instrumentation or refer to appropriate internal expertise
-
Ensure maintenance/servicing of existing company products and propose replacement/adjustment
-
Monitor and maintain awareness of product line modifications and technical specifications

Provide support for sales initiatives
Qualifications and Skills

Entrepreneurial work ethic

Engineering degree or Instrumentation Technologist plus 1-5 years applicable work experience

Strong product and application understanding

Proven customer service skills

Solid negotiation, deal making, selling and presentation abilities

Effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

Highly motivated and innovative

Ability to work in team environment

Excellent written and oral communication skills to allow the opportunity to create preference for solutions through the presentation of technical proposals
