Project Engineering (SCADA) - Automation Support Centre (Calgary)

Description

We have an immediate opening for a Project Engineering SCADA  resource for our Automation Support Centre, Calgary.  Reporting to the Manager, Automation Support Centre, the successful candidate will work within a Project Team, providing support on a number of SCADA Systems and System Integration solutions including system design, control design, hardware design, application development, configuration and commissioning, system testing and startup.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Technical application and implementation of the SCADA System
  • Design control strategies and system configuration
  • Design and implementation of SCADA system applications
  • System expansions, upgrades and migrations
  • Shutdown keys, programming, loop checks, graphic checks, troubleshooting, generate drawings, testing and documentation
  • Hardware design and drawing approvals
  • Wellsite and plant shutdowns and start-ups
  • Interface with third party products (PLCs, HMIs, PI, OPC clients)
  • Factory Acceptance testing with customers
  • On-site acceptance testing and commissioning
  • Customer consultations for plant improvements/optimization
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Solid Project Execution experience
  • Provide routine technical applications/solutions to customers and maintain awareness of their technical requirements
  • Participate in 7/24 Service Call Help Line
  • Provide input into improvement of current engineering processes and practices

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 2 years related work experience
  • Engineering degree (Electrical or Chemical) or Engineering Technology diploma (emphasis on Process Control an asset) with strong academic performance
  • Strong technical background in Field Automation (SCADA) – RTU’s, Liquid Flow Computers, Gas Flow Computers, Radios and Host HMI Systems
  • Background and experience in Gas Well Production including:
    • Directive 17 Reporting Standards
    • Optimization/Plunger-Lift (end user or supplier)
  • Experience in application of Liquid Flow Computers including:
    • Pipeline measurement
    • API Standards
    • Net Oil Computers
    • Product Loading and Unloading applications
  • Solid technical/computer background
  • Exceptional communication skills and customer service practices
  • Successfully manage multiple priorities and assignments
  • Work independently and within team environment
  • Willingness to travel; valid driver license required
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic
