Application Engineering - Spartech Manufacturing (Calgary)

Description
We have an immediate opening for an Application Engineer for our Spartech Sales Team in Calgary. The successful candidate will work within a team to provide control solutions to our customers and support our product lines and services.
Role and Responsibilities
- Prepare and provide quotations, bid packages and proposals to customers for custom electric and pneumatic panels, and related control systems packaging
- Collaborate with Technical Sales Specialist to determine customer requirements and recommend solutions
- Provide technical and commercial advice/expertise to help customers achieve or exceed their delivery and cost goals
- Convey Spartech value message in all customer communications
- Work with Project Managers / Project Coordinators / Sales Coordinators / sub-vendors and contractors to provide accurate and complete information
- Understand the implications of commercial terms on customer orders
- Support and participate in Spartech continuous improvement activities
- Customer interaction through business develop meetings, proposal confirmation and follow-up, and through social networking events
Qualifications and Skills
- Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial, Systems or Electrical) or Electrical/Mechanical or Engineering Technologist diploma, with applicable work experience
- Strong product and application understanding
- Proven customer service skills
- Solid negotiation, deal making, selling and presentation abilities
- Effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills – both written and verbal
- Highly motivated and innovative
- Ability to work effectively in team environment
- Entrepreneurial work ethic
