Spartan's Power Ignition and Controls (“PIC”) team in Calgary, Alberta has an immediate opening in Application Engineering. The successful candidate will work within a team to provide control automation application solutions to our Customers for rotating equipment (compressors, pumps and generators) and support our product lines and services. This inside sales position will be based out of Calgary, Alberta and will report to the Business Unit Manager.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide engineering solutions and Customer service to Oil & Gas majors, EPCs and Chemical plants in Alberta
- Determine Customer requirements and provide specification/technical application solutions of control equipment and instrumentation
- Collaborate with Customer engineers to develop solutions, as required
- Produce quotations, bid proposals, document packages and order control equipment
- Provide troubleshooting expertise of control automation equipment and instrumentation or refer to appropriate internal expertise
- Ensure maintenance/servicing of existing company products and propose replacement/adjustment
- Monitor and maintain awareness of product line modifications and technical specifications
- Provide support for sales initiatives
Qualifications and Skills
- Engineering degree or Engineering Technology diploma; and relevant sales experience
- Good knowledge of compressor packager market
- Strong product and application understanding
- Proven customer service skills
- Solid negotiation, deal making, selling and presentation abilities
- Effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Highly motivated and innovative
- Ability to work in team environment
- Entrepreneurial work ethic
