Globe valves are used to control either the flow rate or the pressure of a flowing fluid in a pipeline.
The globe style isolation valve is one of the oldest designs in use today, largely in manual applications of smaller sizes and a variety of pressure classes. Globe valves are generally used for clean fluids or gases, such as found boiler applications including water or steam circuits.
These valves are carefully selected based on a number of factors: materials are chosen to withstand the corrosive and erosive effects of the process fluid; the valves themselves are sized according to flow and pressure requirements; and the flow obstruction within the valve is chosen to mitigate any anticipated problems like noise, cavitation or plugging.
Spartan Controls has decades of experience in dealing with all of these factors, and has a breadth of product offerings to meet your specific process requirements.
