All gate valves are not created equal, and there are several different technologies to consider when choosing a gate valve for a specific application including wedge gate, slab gate, conduit gate, expanding compact gate, parallel slide gate, and single disc.
Many options include materials, pressure/temperature ratings, shutoff classifications, and bonnet types, including standard or pressure seal bonnets. In addition to the many different gate valve designs that exist, many industry standards apply from API, ASME, ANSI, AWWA, and more. Gate valves are used in anything from ½” manual isolation valves on a simple water application, up to 66” valves on main pipeline isolation applications.
The automation of gate valves can be complex, Spartan Controls’ team is well equipped to serve your manual or automated needs.
